Burge earned his undergraduate degree from Florida State University and his law degree from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law.
The American College of Trial Lawyers was founded in 1950 to recognize the very best of the courtroom bar. Its membership is composed of civil lawyers, criminal lawyers, plaintiffs' lawyers, defendants' lawyers, public interest lawyers, and state and federal prosecutors and defenders. Members of the College undergo a thorough vetting process before being invited for inclusion. The College's three-fold mission is to maintain and improve the standards of trial practice; the administration of justice; and the ethics of the profession. For more information, visit www.actl.com.
