Membership is by invitation only to attorneys who have distinguished themselves in trial practice and who are recognized leaders in their local communities. Burge joins Burr & Forman's W. Michael Atchison as a Fellow of the College. Burge was inducted into membership on October 20 at the organization's Annual Meeting in New York City.

Burge is an experienced civil trial lawyer who has tried over 75 jury trials to verdict, and has prosecuted and defended multi-million dollar claims on behalf of clients. He is a member of Burr & Forman's Litigation and TIPS (Torts, Insurance and Products Liability) Sections, focusing his practice on bad faith, product liability, medical malpractice and personal injury law. He serves as an adjunct professor of law at Samford University. Burge is frequently recognized by his peers, and is listed among The Best Lawyers in America and Alabama Super Lawyers.

Burge earned his undergraduate degree from Florida State University and his law degree from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law.
