Montgomery, Alabama - Burr & Forman is pleased to announce Schuyler K. Espy has been named as the next Executive Director of Alabama Pulp and Paper Council (APPCO) within the Manufacture Alabama organization. She will replace Roy McAuley, who is retiring at the end of the year. Espy will continue in her current Counsel role at Burr while serving as Executive Director of APPCO.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Schuyler to the Manufacture Alabama team,” said George Clark, Manufacture Alabama President. “She has a rich technical background and will bring a wealth of environmental expertise to APPCO and the members of Manufacture Alabama.”

Espy says, “The services provided by Manufacture Alabama and APPCO are essential to manufacturers and their partner industries in Alabama. I am thankful for this opportunity and honored to be joining such a distinguished group.”

According to Manufacture Alabama, she will lead on many of the Association’s environmental issues and provide expertise to all of its participating manufacturing members. She will also be responsible for managing APPCO’s and Manufacture Alabama’s Environmental Committee meetings.

Espy’s legal practice at Burr focuses on environmental law, counseling clients on permitting and compliance under various environmental statutes and regulations for the construction and operation of facilities. She also advises clients on environmental aspects of corporate and real estate transactions, including environmental due diligence, permit transfer requirements, and brownfields assessments.
