Overview
Josh Ehrenfeld is a member of the Corporate & Tax Practice Group with a focus on domestic and international taxation, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, early-stage and start-up companies, private equity, and corporate finance. He advises clients worldwide on a wide-range of domestic and cross-border transactional and business-related issues.
Josh’s background includes experience in global mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures transactions, as well as corporate governance and regulatory matters. He also has significant experience including structuring and executing transactions involving foreign direct investment (FDI) into the U.S. and U.S. investment overseas as well as advising businesses and individuals on global personnel and employment issues, including taxation of U.S. expatriates, and foreign employees in the U.S.
Josh has represented borrowers and lenders in various domestic and cross-border financial transactions, including senior secured and subordinated leveraged and acquisition financings, asset-based financings, restructurings and syndicated finance transactions. In addition, Josh has represented issuers, underwriters, private equity and investment banking clients on a number of SEC-registered public offerings and exempt private placements.
Josh is also a member of the firm’s Blockchain, Cryptocurrency and Electronic Transactions Group and advises businesses on a variety of matters relating to the use, incorporation and impact of blockchain technology, as well as the issuance and utilization of cryptocurrencies.
Prior to joining Burr, Josh worked in the New York and London offices of Shearman & Sterling and served as General Counsel for a New Mexico energy company managing the financing and development of natural gas generation facilities.
