Tampa, Fla. - Burr & Forman LLP announces that Tampa-based partner Rob Williams has been awarded the Hillsborough County Bar Association's Herbert G. Goldburg Award, the highest award given by the association's Trial and Litigation section. The award is given annually to a trial lawyer who, during the course of a distinguished career, has exhibited fairness, integrity, courtesy, zeal, forensic skill, legal acumen, good sense and respect for his fellow lawyers.

He has successfully advised on a wide range of litigation matters, including disputes and claims related to breach of contract, business tort, securities fraud, real estate and construction, corporate governance and other business organization matters, statutory and constitutional tort, negligence and medical malpractice, employment discrimination and white collar criminal prosecutions.

Williams was previously recognized by the Hillsborough County Bar Association in 1999 when he received the Michael A. Forgarty Memorial "In the Trenches Award" for excellence in civil litigation. Additionally, he was included among Florida Trend's "Legal Elite" in 2009-2010 and 2012, and is a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rated Lawyer. Currently, he serves as the Immediate Past-President of the Hillsborough County Bar Foundation and is a former President of the C.H. Ferguson - M.E White American Inn of Court.

Williams earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Florida.
