Overview

Logan Hinkle's practice is primarily focused on helping clients navigate the regulatory complexities of executive compensation and employee benefits.

He is experienced with laws governing qualified plans, health plans, deferred compensation, parachute agreements, and deduction limitations rules. He works with the firm’s securities lawyers, labor and employment attorneys, and litigators on benefits and plan-related matters.

Logan regularly advises companies, boards, private equity clients, and members of management on executive compensation, including grants of equity, and benefits issues that arise in the context of mergers, acquisitions, spinoffs, initial public offerings, restructurings, and other corporate events.

He also advises on the adoption, revision, and negotiation of executive employment and severance agreements, as well as disputes and controversies involving executive compensation.

In addition, Logan has assisted numerous clients with compliance and planning issues related to the Affordable Care Act and its various mandates. He also speaks and writes frequently about the Affordable Care Act, qualified plans, and executive compensation issues.

Logan is an adjunct faculty member at Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where he teaches a course on ERISA and Employee Benefits.
